Why Have a Security Fence At Different Heights or Security Gates That Don't Lock ?
Often times an apartment complex, condo, motels and hotels will "ATTEMPT" to be appear secure against trespassors, but even a novice criminal that is casing the complex will find the weakness in perimeter security. Anyone with a half of a brain knows the old saying, the weakest link on the chain is going to fail first. The same goes with security. This can be the fence that is too low, the gate that is left unlocked or the hallway or entrance that is not well lighted. Not being consistent in ones perimeter security is inviting a breach.
Another serious security flaw is having gates that either don't lock or left unlocked by hotel guests or tenants. Gates should automatically close and lock, and if they don't, then repairs should be ordered or gate or door replaced. In some hotels, guest will intentionally block or tape over an outside gate for either their convenience or to allow guests of friends to come through a side gate or entrance to avoid the front desk. When a hotel discovers this type of tampering is occurring, then such gates need to be equipped with buzzers or alarms to remind guests or others that these gates are to remain closed.
