Truck Stop Sex Trafficking Lawsuit

According to experts, human smuggling and sex trafficking of many women, teenage / young girls are forced into sex in hotels, restaurants, motels and even at truck stops across the United States. In fact the human trafficking business is huge and getting bigger. It has been reported that thousands of young women and girls are escorted and transported across the United States and often are forced to work and perform sexual acts for paying customers. Many of these exploited women have been seen in and around truck stops sadly being exploited by truck drivers and others.  The major truck stops across the nation include Love's, Pilot, Pilot Flying J and TA TravelCenters of America. Some organizations such as The Polaris Project or Truckers Against Trafficking (TAT) have been formed to help attempt to stop sexual trafficking and exploitation of these women and girls and to report the crimes as they happen to authorities. Experts all agree that the closer a truck stop is to a urban area, the higher the incidents of sex trafficking and the closer the truckstop is to higher crime areas of a city, also the higher the crime rate at truck stops which include sex trafficking, rape, human transport, prostitution and human exploitation

Many of these victims have been illegally smuggled into this country with promises of romance or a secure job, only to find out they are being forced to have sex.  About 90% of the victims are female with about 33% being minors. Most of these women and girls receive little or no money for the acts, instead the money goes to their pimp or handler. These women are moved from location to location, often a hotel room near a truck stop and kept locked up until their services are needed with another "john".
